Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre brings excitement to life

Rotterdam Ahoy is well-known as an event location in the Netherlands and far beyond. In 2021, some 183 million viewers from around the world watched the Eurovision Song Contest unfold in a spectacularly smooth way. Since then, Ahoy has opened a brand new, advanced and sustainable convention centre that features the country’s largest auditorium. Mirjam van de Kamp, Director of Conventions at Rotterdam Ahoy, and her team are responsible for showcasing the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre (RACC) as a leading international location for conventions and events. “Our convention centre has actually been open since 2020. Sadly, it quickly closed again due to corona. Then it opened and closed yet again. You could say that we made a false start. Luckily, today we’re operating at full capacity, and the time is right to tell the convention world about the existence of the RACC. It’s not just a convention centre: it’s one of the most sustainable and largest state-of-the-art convention centres in the Netherlands, especially in combination with the rest of the Ahoy venue,” explains Van de Kamp.

The country’s largest auditorium

An interesting aspect of the RACC is RTM Stage. This unique and multifunctional space can be converted into a concert hall (for 7,800 people), into the largest auditorium in the Netherlands (for 2,800 people and in XL conference version for 4,400 people) in no time. The adjacent Port 1 hall is suitable for plenary sessions of up to 1,000 people. And then there are the 35 breakout rooms. To top it off, the RACC is directly connected to the Ahoy Arena as well as six exhibition and event halls, so that organising an exhibition as well as a convention is not a problem.

Ahoy is much more than a location for sports, events, trade shows, conventions and concerts. It’s about the feeling you get when you come here.
