First Leonardo Royal Hotel opens in the Netherlands

On April 15th the birth day of Leonardo da Vinci's, Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam (LRHA) opened its doors to guests for the first time. The very first Leonardo Royal Hotel in the Netherlands is housed in a new 18-storey building in the Amstelkwartier with no less than 490 rooms. The 1,200 m2 of meeting space, including a ballroom of no less than 900 m2, is distinctive. Jakob-Jan Blaauw, General Manager LRHA: "I would describe the hotel as "overwhelming", the lobby is huge with six-meter-high windows, an escalator and natural light that many hotels will envy. We have worked hard and the hotel is now ready. The best employees have been hired and we have put together beautiful dishes. It is fantastic that we can now welcome and inspire guests. " The LRHA is the largest hotel in the Fattal Hotel Group and is one of the top 5 largest conference hotels in Amsterdam.

Interior design

The rich history of The Netherlands was the inspiration for interior designer Andreas Neudahm. Because the Netherlands is so much more than just the Amsterdam bridges, he has incorporated authentic elements from Dutch history and daily life. Many elements can be found in the interior, which refer to the Golden Age. Fattal Hotel Group has been working with Neudahm for years, Neudahm designs every hotel to measure and now he also gets creative freedom from the Fattal Hotel Group.

Meeting space

With 11 meeting rooms and a total area of 1,200 m2 of meeting space, the location is ideal for conferences, events and meetings. Unique is the 900 m2 size ballroom, it is possible to drive a car in the ballroom, this makes the room extremely suitable for product launches and car presentation. In addition, the ballroom has a connecting terrace of 400 m2. Restaurant Vitruv has a capacity of 400 people and offers high quality food and service. Chef Frank Broenink uses fresh and local products and beautiful dishes are served through live cooking, among other things. The hotel has its own parking facilities and is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. The hotel is opposite the Overamstel metro station, only half a distance from the RAI Convention Center. Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam interior

Now we’re talking

The "Now we're talking" credential of LRHA describes not only the size of the hotel and the various possibilities that the hotel offers, but also the feeling with which the guests leave the hotel. Earlier this year, LRHA started the application procedure with Voice Memo via WhatsApp, in search of real 'speech makers'. Interested people introduced themselves via a Voice Memo and this gave General Manager Jakob-Jan Blaauw the opportunity to select employees with "character". With the recruitment event that followed, the majority of vacancies could ultimately be filled. April 1, Leonardo Hotels received the key to the hotel from the contractor. Jakob-Jan Blaauw moved into the hotel with no fewer than 80 employees and prepared it for the opening.

Top 5 conference hotels

Alexander Kluit, Managing Director of Fattal Hotel Group, The Dutch & Belgium: “Almost a year ago, Apollo Hotels became part of Fattal Hotel Group. Since then, our portfolio has more than 1,500 rooms in the Dutch capital. With Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam we are joining the top 5 conference hotels in the Amsterdam International Business Center and opening a new flagship for meetings and events of all sizes.”
