Historic Dutch Monastery to become the first Hilton Curio Collection hotel in The Netherlands

A 144-year-old former monastery in the Netherlands is set to become a new luxury hotel as the first Dutch member of Hilton’s Curio Collection. The hotel, esteemed for its neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque architecture, will maintain its independent character in a situation perfect for a peaceful getaway in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Monastery Hotel Koningsbosch, Curio Collection by Hilton, close to the German and Belgian borders in the Dutch province of Limburg, is set to open in 2020, marking the exclusive collection brand's debut in the Netherlands.

Sixth Hilton brand

Stunning former monastery

The 100 room hotel will be situated inside a stunning former monastery, originally built in 1873, and will host an upscale restaurant and bar. The hotel, esteemed for its neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque architecture, will maintain its independent character in a situation perfect for a peaceful getaway in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The countryside surrounding the hotel will attract those with an active mindset, with a number of outdoor activities such as trekking and cycling on offer in the nearby area. It is also easily reachable from a number of large cities, including Maastricht (40 km), Eindhoven (65 km) and Düsseldorf (77 km).

The Monastery Hotel Koningsbosch will further expand Hilton's portfolio in the Netherlands, with properties already operating under the Waldorf Astoria, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton brands. Curio Collection by Hilton is a global portfolio of upper upscale hotels and resorts handpicked for their unique character and personality.
