Ibtm world upgrades mobile app and beta tests Compass way-finding App

Ibtm world has launched its upgraded mobile app, ibtm world, and has announced it will be beta testing a new way-finding app, IBTM World Compass (Beta), available on Android, at this year’s Ibtm world, which takes place from 28 – 30 November at Fira Gran Via Barcelona, Spain.

Enhanced show app

The enhanced ibtm world show app, available on iTunes and Google Play, is downloadable for free and has several enhanced features, including an updated route planner, the ability for exhibitors and Hosted Buyers to rate the quality of meetings and for Hosted Buyers, the new functionality to scan badges allowing them to take away a database of exhibitor contacts. The app also provides quick and easy access to the appointments diary and allows delegates to record no shows and create a personalised agenda as well as including full details of the Knowledge Programme and networking events. Users can also message other members of the community and favourite knowledge sessions, exhibitors and other interests.

Interactive navigation

The new IBTM World Compass (Beta) app is downloadable, free on Google Play for android users, and provides delegates and visitors an easy to follow, interactive way to navigate around the 240,000m2 Fira Gran Via venue. By entering the user’s precise location and final destination, the app uses a system of image recognition via floor tile marking to guide users to the exact location they require. Kerry Prince, Portfolio Director, ibtm world, said: “ibtm world is a very large show with hundreds of exhibitors to visit, appointments to attend and fantastic speakers to see. We’re very conscious that our attendees are always looking for new ways to maximise time at the event, and we are constantly looking at how we can best support them in doing that with the latest technologies and innovation.

“We will be continuing to develop both apps post-show and welcome any feedback, which can be given directly via the apps, or to us in person at the event.” Ibtm world is the industry’s leading showcase of meetings, incentives, conferences and events and attracts over 15,000 elite international and domestic MICE delegates. Exhibitors range from destinations and conference centres to technology companies and suppliers from across the industry, and over 70,000 pre-scheduled meetings are set to take place over the three-day event.
