The Netherlands will experience its first edition of Pentawards Live. The new international packaging event is slated for 13 February 2019 at Passenger Terminal Amsterdam.
New international packaging event
Last year, the Pentawards — the globally renowned packaging design competition — was introduced to the Dutch public at the Packaging Innovations trade fair.
Whereas in 2018 the focus was solely on aspects of the Pentawards, trade fair organiser Easyfairs believes it’s time to take the next step.
Introduction in the Netherlands
‘Visitors and exhibitors alike were very enthusiastic at the introduction of the Pentawards in the Netherlands’, says Group Event Director Irma de Hoon. ‘The Pentawards project management team in London took this enthusiasm as a sign to expand by adding an exclusive international event with rich dialogue on award-winning design.’
‘A visit to the Pentawards ceremony in New York reminded us, once more, just how high the quality of Dutch packaging design is. Our staging of Pentawards Live will bring international design allure to the Dutch public. However, the interaction is clearly equally important, because we’re proud of the strength and value of Dutch packaging design and, naturally, we want it to inspire international markets.’
Leading Dutch design agencies and ground-breaking packaging experts will participate in Pentawards Live to inspire visitors with thought-provoking dialogue. De Hoon points out, ‘Here, we really want to present the innovative design agencies and Dutch packaging experts. This event at the heart of the Dutch design world serves as a bridge to international markets, and it generates justly-deserved publicity for Dutch designers. Thanks to our international network of packaging events, we also expect to welcome foreign guests to this first edition of Pentawards Live in the Netherlands.’
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam
The event will divide Passenger Terminal Amsterdam into three sections.
The theme ‘Connect’ will be linked to the interactions between the design agencies and packaging experts and the brand owners, designers and packaging professionals. This dialogue on the main deck will form the beating heart of the event.
The promenade deck will be dedicated to the theme ‘Watch’. Visitors will be inspired by an exposition about design around the world, Winners’ Exhibit, featuring a selection of the 2018 Pentawards-winning packaging.
‘Learn’, the third section, will be presented on the beautiful panorama deck. Speakers representing the world’s elite brands will take the stage to challenge international packaging professionals to think outside of the box.
Maximum number of places
Visitors can only attend this conference programme with its new format of world-class international speakers if they obtain a delegate ticket in time. To safeguard the event’s exclusivity, a maximum number of 200 places has been allocated.
